Selection Process for Punjab and Haryana High Court Recruitment 2025
The selection process starts with a Computer Based Test (CBT) worth 60 marks, containing 60 multiple-choice questions on English Composition and General Knowledge. Each question carries 1 mark, there is no negative marking, and the test lasts for 1 hour. If the CBT is held in multiple shifts, scores will be normalized (as explained on page 7), and a merit list will be prepared. Based on this, candidates up to three times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the next round: the English Shorthand & Transcription Test and the Spreadsheet Test. If multiple candidates have the same score as the last shortlisted candidate, all of them will also be called for these tests. It’s important to note that just taking the CBT doesn’t guarantee selection for the next stage, and CBT marks won’t count in the final merit.
Shortlisted candidates will then take two tests:
- English Shorthand & Transcription Test: Candidates must write dictation at 80 words per minute in English shorthand and type it at 20 words per minute on a computer. More than 8% mistakes will lead to disqualification.
- Spreadsheet Test: This is a qualifying test of 10 minutes and 10 marks. To pass, a candidate must score at least 4 marks (40%).
